Battlefield 6 is getting a small but useful interim update this morning: Game Update 1.4.3.5 goes live on Wednesday, September 30, at 08:00 UTC across all platforms. If you've already downloaded the preload (Build 1.000.032), you won't have to wait much longer.
This isn't a season change or a massive balance patch. Battlefield Studios are focusing on polish and stability – precisely the kind of update that often has a bigger impact on daily gameplay than you might think, for better or worse.
What's Changing with Update 1.4.3.5?
Here are the key points from the official patch notes, summarized in our own words:
- Social info, the minimap while downed, and navigation in the End-of-Round screen will behave more consistently. The minimap will now also display when you are on the ground.
- Targeted corrections to maps, modes, and AI behavior are intended to reduce disruptive environmental issues during matches.
- Improvements have also been made to game launch reliability, the display of scopes (Optics), and spectator mode stability.
- Class restrictions for the character skins Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw and Lt. Robert "Bob" Floyd have been removed – specifically at the community's request.
- Players who cancel a purchase made with Battlefield Coins can now navigate back to the buy button as intended.
- AI-controlled vehicles will navigate shallow water on Tsuru Reef better and will no longer get stuck there.
Why are Battlefield 6's Minor .5 Updates Important?
A look at the version numbers reveals a pattern: major content updates like 1.4.3.0 (September 15, marking the start of the Tidal Strike phase with hundreds of changes) are followed two weeks later by smaller ".5" patches – just like 1.4.2.5 on September 1 or 1.2.2.5 in the spring. This is our observation, not an official announcement, but it helps contextualize things: these updates are about cleanup, not new content.
For you, this specifically means: no new weapons, no meta upheaval. However, the minimap while downed and the revised menus are likely to be noticeable in daily matches. From our perspective, it's a good sign that Battlefield Studios are so quick to implement community feedback, such as with the skin class restrictions.
By the way: The Deep-Six Collection Event concluded yesterday (September 29), and as of September 28, a date for Season 5 has not yet been announced. Until then, Update 1.4.3.5 remains the next confirmed event on the Battlefield calendar. You can find the official notes on the EA Battlefield 6 page.
